Why Staying Consistent with Quitting Bad Habits is Hard

Most of us quit bad habits because we want to avoid something, not because we want to attain something

It happened when Aleyna (my girlfriend) and I decided to become parents after she got unexpectedly pregnant. At this point, I was gambling and taking drugs daily. I struggled with quitting those habits the months before, and I thought the root of the problem, which didn’t allow me to stay consistent, was motivation and discipline.

Naturally, I thought, deciding to become a Dad would change everything - well, it didn’t change sh*t. I was doing drugs over and over again, to the point where I started hating myself for it.

That was when I realized something fundamental.

The motivation for change was only coming from a state of frustration.

You may know this from your personal life. Deciding to quit a bad habit of yours, simply because you are so sick of living this damn f*cking lifestyle.

That’s what you need to change

Think of being consistent with quitting your bad habits as getting an engine running.
Currently, your fuel to get the engine running, your motivation to get consistent with quitting the bad habits, is the frustration that has built up from them.

After a few days of being consistent with quitting your bad habits, the frustration that has built up goes away.

Guess what - your engine runs out of fuel.

What you need to have is a vision. You need to have a crystal clear vision, which is worth working for.

How that looks is very simple
Stop quitting scrolling on social media because you are sick of it.

Start quitting scrolling on social media…
- because you want to live a healthy lifestyle
- because you want to have more time for family and friends
- because you want to improve your attention span

Make your vision so strong that you can envision what kind of overall benefits it has through chain reactions:

Living a more healthy lifestyle → becoming more healthy → looking more healthy → looking more attractive = More Confidence & Better Dating Life, which you can make a chain again.

Having more time for family and friends → allows us to build and strengthen meaningful relationships = Living a more Fulfilled and Happy Life.

Have such a vision, and let this be your fuel - simply because it is a fuel you do not run out of after a few days.

If you have made it this far, consider doing this…

Having such a strong vision can not just be used for quitting a single bad habit.
It has helped me to change my entire life in just 50 days.

As I have mentioned, when my girlfriend became unexpectedly pregnant, I was doing drugs daily, whilst living at my parent’s house and working for a company.

In just 50 days, we moved to Bali, I got clean, and I started making my money online - all at the age of 19. I have managed to do so by transforming my crystal-clear vision into real life.

Not by envisioning circumstances such as the villa we would move in, or how much money I would make - but by envisioning the type of habits that I would have to build and maintain the lifestyle of my vision.

Such as getting clean, exercising, building a business, meditating, journaling…

I took those habits, formed a routine, and committed myself to follow this routine for 50 days.

I have not just changed my life, I have built myself my dream life in just 50 days.

That was when I realized the power of committing to a 50-day challenge and decided to make it my mission to help people build their dream lives.

That is how PROJECT NEWBORN was born.

It is a framework for a 50-day challenge, which guides young men into purpose, discipline, and fulfilling their potential.
